Long Beach Arts Exhibit Has Just the Right Mix - Collage/Mixed Media/Sculpture

...Another wrenching view is Anita T. Silvestri's provocative collage/photomontage, "The Pilgrams Way."  Both surreal and absurdist, it is an evocative scene of decomposing buildings in some crumbling Third World seaport.

All-seeing eyes and statues of blind justice stare down on two young boys skipping through the rubble, while black slaves do heavy dock work and dead heads float in water surrounded by votive candles.
